Vintage Postcard Templates for Post Card Marketing

Vintage Postcard Templates – everything old is new again!  Sure, it’s an old expression, but it’s true. Vintage is in!

Vintage fashions, vintage cameras (think Histamatic for your iPhone, Holgas, Polaroids) vintage fonts in design – we’re all harkening back to a more comfortable and simple time – perhaps in our own way to avoid or minimize all the economic and political upheavals of the recent past.

And vintage antique postcards have never been more in demand or appreciated as an art form and gift of appreciation. If you want to be on the inside track for this new art forms and style, you’ll want my new Vintage Postcard Template Kit for Photoshop. Now you can use your own photos in this template to create authentic looking antique vintage postcards.

While cleaning up my office I rediscoverd all my old Old family photos. These, (on the left) are from the turn of the old century in Glasgow during the 1900s!

I marvelled at the workmanship of the mounting and the cardboard frames, and the calligraphy that really inspired the idea to recreate this type of postcard template.

Afterall, you images shouldn’t just be lingering on your hard drive – they need to see the light of day and you need to show off!

So, I studied the typography, the paper, and the photographic techniques used back then and came up with easy tools that you can use to recreate this look.

vintage postcard templateThe vintage postcard template kit contains all you need to create realistic vintage postcards from the early 1900s with your own photos and Photoshop CS.

A dynamic photoshop action (“The Glasgow Antiquifier”) effortlessly transforms your images into vintage looking antique silver prints, like the one on the left – this is a “new” image transformed.

An assortment of vintage borders (4 of them in both horizontal and vertical formats – classic corners, Glasgow frames, torn & tattered, and ragged borders) adds authenticity, and a hi-res printable postcard template with front (for your “antiqufied” photo) and authentic and painstakingly reproduced back with 3 style options completes the inaugural kit (yes there will be three more kits coming!).

Totally brandable – you can add your own text on the front to replace the company and address in the template!

NOTE:
This kit is for making REAL postcards from your own photos, to send in the mail (snail mail). You write your message on the back and fill in the address of the recipient and add a stamp – good to go!

How to make your own vintage postcards in 4 easy steps:

  • Use the The Glasgow Antiquifier action to antiquify your image, in Photoshop. This action makes the 1904 silver image, as in the portrait of the woman above. (optional), or use your own vintage post processing techniques.
  • Resize your image to 4″x5″
  • Drag and drop your image into the vintage postcard template and save it.
  • Choose your postcard back, save, and send to your printer

vintage postcard templatesThe files in the Vintage Postcard Template Kit are layered PSD files, to keep the print quality high. Using the layers you can edit the text so you can brand the front with your name or your studio. They come with the Vistaprint printing guidelines included. You’ll need to have Photoshop to use this kit.

Using Vistaprint (or any other online digital printer) you can upload the file once you’ve added your photo and have a set of your own truly “vintage” postcards.  Use them for thank you notes, to keep in touch, or to promote your photography business!

Or if you prefer, you can print them on your inkjet or color laser printer, or make “one-off” vintage postcards at Zazzle.

Order the Vintage Postcard Template Kit here. Instant download just 19.95.
